We're a family owned business that is operated out of Maumee, OH by Charles and Erin Clark doing business as The Clark Group.
Our father crafts conducting batons for musicians and conductors worldwide, after learning the craft from our late grandfather, Arthur "Papa" Zahorik, who originally created the batons.
Arthur was band director at Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, WI in the early 1940's when he started making his own conducting batons. The batons he was using at the time were not built well, were inconsistent from one baton to the next and were relatively expensive. Initially he started making conducting batons just for himself and a few close friends. As word spread and he started getting more requests for his batons he started selling them through various music dealers in the late 1940's.
Since then, National Baton Company has produced over 1 million batons for customers including major symphony orchestras and world class conductors around the globe.
Throughout the years, the product mix has grown and the manufacturing processes have been modernized. One thing that hasn't changed is the passion for the business and the commitment to quality and excellence in every baton that is crafted.

Custom and personalized orders
Custom imprinting on the baton shaft can include up to 24 characters including spaces IN UPPER CASE ONLY, including A-Z, 0-9, plus ampersand (&), period(.), comma(,), colon (:), semi-colon (;), and dash (-).
Please email info@batonz.com for any special imprinting requests (e.g. - 2 line imprint, different type faces, logos, etc.).
Note that personalized orders can not be returned unless you received the wrong item or the imprint was different than what you requested.
