Making Something Happy was a phrase I chose many years ago. I never really knew what I was going to do with it only that it made me smile every time I read it on my studio wall. Making beautiful things for my family and friends has always helped me escape life's worries and stress. I have a tremendous love for all things handmade and full of color and love to surround our home and camper with objects that make me smile as I go from room to room.
My love of sewing began when I was very young on an old black Singer sewing machine my father bought at a yard sale. My sisters and I learned to sew very young and continued throughout school making many of our clothes. We loved watching our grandmother sew everything. She could baste full hems in seconds! I continued sewing in school making many dresses and my own custom gowns. I am still trying to tackle that bound button hole I failed during a high school test. When I am not sewing, I am drawing, sketching, painting and packing lunches and helping two little boys with homework!
My love of colorful fabrics was gradually filling my studio and getting a little out of control. I started sewing and quilting beautiful kitchen dish drying mats so I could enjoy some of my gorgeous fabrics in my kitchen. After receiving many requests and compliments I decided to make them for others to enjoy. Soon decorating our camper with unbreakable decor became my next passion. Camping is truly my happy place.
Quilts aren't just for the bedroom. Beautiful designer fabrics are perfect in the kitchen too! Who says you can’t enjoy bright and colorful things in your own kitchen, sewing room, RV, office or dorm room?
All items in my shop are made by me. I personally test all items I make for a very long time and continue to refine my process to insure you receive the best made products.
I am fortunate to be surrounded by some of the best fabric designers in the world. The problem is not with my selections but only time and resources to experiment and create with everything available. I promise to keep refreshing my shop with the best quality and desired fabrics from the industry’s top designers.
