ManIsFive/ThreeRavens
I am a lover of and believer in all things magical.
I've a persistent curiosity towards the many facets of the fantastic and the strange.
The shop reflects my current moods and fixations. I promise that a ton of love and care, along with my undivided attention, goes into each item before I list it for sale. Every piece or set is made one at a time by me. Each wax product is poured in small batches, one pound at a time, by me. All of these things take time, sometimes days, to complete. I strongly believe that this makes them special. I love crafting and have been a maker of things since childhood, but my true love is fragrance formulation. The process is almost therapeutic for me. I've spent the last year and a half perfecting the current fragrances, with more to come soon.
Apothecary items are slowly being added to our growing line of products. A frequently asked question, and often basis for harsh judgment is, "Are your candles/products made with essential or all natural ingredients?". We use essential oils when we can, but the truth is, depending on the product, it's not always the healthiest option. When you're talking Holistic healing, then yes, but some essentials can be skin irritants, and even contain toxins. Most are safe to to heat in a warmer, but not to put to an open flame or light on fire, like in our soy candles. So, the answer is, when the goal scent or product would be unsafe with essential ingredients, it is substituted. In those cases where essentials can not be utilized, the very best quality plant-derived perfume or fragrance oils are used. All our soy candles are pure, natural, dye free, GMO free, pesticide free, phthalate free, lead free, naturally sustainable and grown locally and harvested in the USA. We never use petroleum based ingredients in any of our products. I hope that is helpful, but feel free to contact me anytime with any question you may have.
I adore the idea of sending parcels of my creations to you. I ship several times a week so that nobody has to wait a painfully long time for their purchases.
I am currently working on overhauling the entire shop. Streamlining the items offered, the style of photos, the packaging...well... just about everything. I enjoy playing with themes, though I am always my own worst critic. The shop is a constant work in progress.
Even though I handle the bulk of responsibilities with this shop, we consider it a family endeavor. When you purchase from Man Is Five/Three Ravens, you aren't just feeding my uncontrollable urge to create, but also helping to support my caring for our two sons with Cystic Fibrosis. They are and always will be the motivation behind keeping this project going.
It has been an amazing few years so far, and I am so thankful to have you guys stick around and be witness to the evolution of myself and the Man Is Five shop.
Thank you for your interest,
-Christina
