    About

    • My mailing station, sewing desk and cutting table all in a row. The door at right leads to a sun-filled photo studio.

    MarfDaze makes and sells handmade bags and other good stuff out of amazing fabrics.

    In 2010, I was a full-time editor with a newfound passion for sewing. I opened a my Etsy shop as a fun new hobby. Over the years, my knowledge, skills and business grew, and in 2015 I became a full-time sewist and entrepreneur.
    I now spend my weekdays sewing away on my trusty Singer heavy duty and my new Brother 27-stitch while listening to podcasts and audiobooks in my amazing home studio. (I'm absurdly proud of my studio, with its fabric library, cutting station, sewing desk, mailing station and sound system. I'm currently saving up for a fancy new wide ironing board.)
    Most of my weekends are spent traveling around southern New England and the mid-Atlantic regional, selling my wares at craft fairs and fan conventions.
    For the most part, MarfDaze is a one-woman show, though my husband David often packs up the car for me when I hit the road and drops my packages off at the post office, because he's cool like that. Also, MarfDaze has a plushie spokesmoose, Irving, who travels with me and poses for pictures when I blog and post on social media.

    MarfDaze accepts PayPal, credit cards and Etsy gift cards. If you need to cancel an order, please do so as soon as possible in order to receive a full refund. Once your product has been mailed out, I will refund the product cost when I receive the item back in the mail.
    In the rare event that your package is lost in the mail, I will offer you the choice of a full refund or a replacement item.

    What's a MarfDaze? It's a happy married couple, one part Martha, one part David. When our niece was two, she could not pronouce either name, so she gave us a collective nickname. Only Martha actually works at MarfDaze, though David is incredibly supportive.
