Creations in Clay
Hmmm.... well... I started a ceramics class in 2009 and fell in love with it, basically. Now it's what I do....
Everything I make is my very own design and one of a kind since I don't duplicate any pieces. Each of my Venuses is individually sculpted from scratch, and each of my houses has it's unique detailing and glazing even when the same front is used over again.
I enjoy variation - ok, maybe you question this after viewing 30 Venus necklaces in a row - but my Venuses are different. Special. They live their own life and grow out of the clay without my having to think. I need to make them - I relax when making them - they heal me. And I love each and every one of them - how the boobs dance or swing, how the torso bends or twists, how the buttocks strut or sag ... they speak. People who start to collect them keep wanting more, and it is he most wonderful feeling! There is so much love going into each and every one of them, and maybe this shows. Now they are ready to move out into the world!
The houses are great fun to make, even though they take a lot of time to complete. This is completely different, making an inanimate object. The older parts of my home town Lund have a lot of these types of colorful low street houses, and I remember seeing beautiful town houses in Philadelphia, Washington DC, San Fransisco... well, in many places. I've always loved miniatures myself, and when I was a child my dad and I used to make tiny German houses for his mini Merklin train set...
Because I enjoy both challenges and variation, I'm a sucker for special orders... it is how I keep developing and having fun with other people. So let me know if you have something in mind! I do not make copies of other people's clay sculptures (...well, maybe of an antique item...), but apart from that just talk to me. I only ask for a fair amount of my own artistic interpretation when trying to fulfill your wishes.
I look forward to seeing where my goddesses and Etsy will bring me. And to meet you!
All the best from southern Sweden!
