Siempre he visto el color y la luz de una manera especial, pero vivir en Sudamérica durante una década realmente aumentó la saturación en mi forma de ver el mundo.
Pinto con colores translúcidos usando acrílicos fluidos. Fui acuarelista durante 20 años, lo que todavía influye en mi forma de pintar.
Hay más colores en el cielo que en la tierra. Intento poner colores celestiales en mis pinturas como una forma de glorificar al Creador pero también para evocar la emoción que siento por el paisaje, animal o persona que estoy pintando.
Actualmente pinto en el estudio de mi casa en Austin, TX. Es un lugar de curación y belleza para mí, especialmente en primavera, donde hay flores silvestres mágicas por todas partes.
I’ve always seen color and light in a special way but living in South America for a decade really boosted the saturation in how I see the world.
I paint with translucent colors using fluid acrylics. I was a watercolor artist for 20 years which still influences how I paint.
There are more colors in heaven than on earth. I try to put heavenly colors in my paintings as a way of glorifying The Creator but also to evoke the emotion I feel about the landscape, animal or person I’m painting.
I currently paint in my home studio in Austin, TX. Its a place of healing and beauty for me, especially in the springtime where there are magical wildflowers everywhere.
