Boutique of Treasures

Announcement    Welcome to Marilyns Treasur Chest.

My doll clothes are made with loving care in a smoke free environment. I make one-of-a-kind items as I love to try different laces, ribbons, etc to decorate them.

When I was 12 years old I joined a 4H club and learned to sew on my mom's treadle sewing machine. My first zipper was put in backwards. Lesson learned. I made my high school graduation dress, complicated enough that the home ec. teacher told me it would be too hard for me. I proved her wrong. I made some school clothes for my children until they got old enough they didn't want "home made" clothes.
Years later I decided to get back to sewing and started out with making cloth toys and fake fur toys for tots. These were sold on consignment at stores. I have then went from decorated pillows to adult bibs, cloth storybooks and a variety of other items. For the past several years I have made doll clothes for the American Girl dolls and Bitty Baby dolls and also the original Cabbage Patch dolls. I'm adding baby blanket/quilts now.

I enjoy going to the local craft fairs (20+ yrs). Altho others make doll clothes, no two make the same items. I started out making night gowns and bath robes for the dolls, then each year I added something else per customer requests.
I prefer to sew doll clothes for Bitty baby (15"), Bitty twins (15"), American Girl doll (or others that are built like her that are 18" tall). This is my passion. I love to sew and use a serger and regular sewing machine. I plan to learn to use my embroidery machine this year.

Thank you for stopping in. I hope you find something you like.
