Drawing the life of my dreams, one stitch at the time
I’ve always had a genuine love for animals, and when I developed a passion for drawing at the age of 13, I instantly combined those two interests and started to draw animals and portraits. I especially liked drawing eyes, because I could see as I drew them on paper that I was giving life to something from scratch. Gradually, I switched from graphite pencils to color pencils and I still love using them for their great simplicity.
At about the same age, my grandmother taught me how to knit and I absolutely loved it! When my first nephew was born, I knitted a blue blanket for him (which he still has at age 12) and later on I started to knit hats and toys for him and my other nephews. That is why I named my shop MatanteGe (French for auntie Ge) because that's what my whole family calls me!
So MatanteGe is for me a great opportunity to express my creativity, to make time for it and to eventually (hopefully) have the possibility of making a living out of it. Everyday I wake up with a new idea and can’t wait to make it come true! And everyday I learn something new about supplying, marketing, photography, printing, shipping, etc. and I enjoy every minute of it! I hope to see my shop flourish and I’ll continue to put all my heart and soul into it :)
