Behind the Squish Factor
To capture a still shot of me is to contain the brilliant colors and frayed edges which seem to accompany my creative process in one single frame. It is never calculated, nor seamless...it is more often messy and blurred, whirring and spinning as my fingers race to keep up with the ideas in my mind. That is me, it is who I am. To understand me is to understand my fuel for creation, so welcome to my nutshell!
As a young child, my creativity found its outlet in drawings, sketches, and paintings. Those eventually evolved to include fabric, jewelry, and all forms of yarn and fibers. Now that I have entered this next phase in my life, ALL those outlets are part of my everyday life, and I hope to share them with you all.....eventually :) But for now, my immense love for yarn and all things soft and comforting is the driving force behind this storefront.
The Mamoe was born out of the desire to share my love of all things fiber and textile with the world. The opportunity to meet complete strangers and walk away as new friends is one of the best parts of participating in artisan's guilds and handcrafters' fairs and festivals. The experience of meeting someone new and cultivating relationship with them is always the goal of The Mamoe.
