Welcome to MatildaTime Designs!
With the shop officially open, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a little about how this all began.
My name is Sandy, and my middle name is Matilda. When I was younger, I used to feel embarrassed by it because it was something kids teased me about. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve learned to appreciate the things that make me unique. That’s why I chose the name MatildaTime Designs—a way to embrace that part of me. After all, how many Matildas do you really meet these days?
When I’m not crocheting, you can usually find me in the garden. Gardening has always been my second favorite hobby—crocheting will forever hold first place. My inspiration came from my late aunt’s beautiful chevron afghan, a piece I admired for as long as I can remember. I can still picture the colors. When I was little, she once took me to a yarn store, and even though I was too young to make anything like that, the memory stuck with me. Years later, I finally picked up a hook, starting with blankets, then scarves, and eventually creating my own chevron afghan. And now… here I am, opening this shop!
