Hi, I'm Matthew, a photographer currently living in San Diego, California.
A few years ago, on the advice of a good friend and with budget constraints in mind, I picked up an Olympus Stylus Epic 2.8, a 35mm film camera, with the intention of shooting just for the pleasure of it.
Since then I've photographed anything and everything: road trips, work travel, cars, landscapes, whatever caught my eye along the way. The images in this shop are the result of that little camera and over a decade of experience shooting a wide range of subjects.
My compositions draw from the visual language of cinema, while the colors, shades, and tones lean on the four canonical painting styles of the Italian Renaissance. For my personal work, I shoot exclusively on 35mm film, motivated by the belief that you can do a lot with a little.
