I was going to use an historically accurate pattern but realized it was both too complicated for the time I had left to make it, and it tied in the back, something I would not be able to do myself, so this little number filled the bill perfectly. Small number of stays, but enough to hold me in. I used the sew in type to prevent twisting and melted the ends with a lighter. I made the eyelets by hand and they turned out great. I skipped the edging and just sewed the lining to the outer part of the garment to save time. It was comfortable to wear and gave the right shape for my historical outfit to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the USA.

5 out of 5 starsI am a complete beginner to sewing and I have found this pattern and all instructions provided extremely clear and easy to follow! I was able to make custom size adjustments fairly simply with the guide included despite this being truly the first garment I have ever attempted to sew, very pleased with my purchase and excited to finish the stays. Thank you :> *Edit to add finished photos!! I ended up resizing the pattern to my custom measurements using the guide provided, and I was also able to reverse the instructions to make the piece back-lace instead, as that was the visual I was going for :> I’m so happy with it and I got so many compliments when I wore it out, now I want to try sewing even more garments! Thank you again!! ^^

Frequently asked questions
What do "closed measurements" mean on the corsets and stays items/patterns?
"Closed Measurements" means the measurements of the garment/pattern when fully laced closed!
However this doesn't mean you have to fit that specific measurements, these garments often aren't worn fully laced shut, so they can fit measurements 4"-6" bigger than what is written!
Are refunds available on digital download purchases?
It depends! If you have accidentally purchased more than one of the same item/made an accidental order I can refund the accidental purchase as long as the item HAS NOT been downloaded.
If a digital download purchase has been downloaded it is no longer eligible to be refunded.
Digital Patterns come in A4 and Standard Letter Size, what if I would like them in a different/specific paper size?
If there is a specific/custom paper size you'd like your sized for (ie: if you use a larger scale printer/use different standard printer) message me after you purchase your pattern with the requested pattern size!
I can adjust the file size and have the updated file emailed to you within 24-48 hours of your request!
