About Memory Den NL
Memory Den NL is a vintage postcard print shop based in Den Haag, Netherlands. Every listing is a high-resolution digital download scanned from an original postcard sourced from European estate sales, auctions, paper fairs, and private collections — selected individually for its image, its story, or both.
The emphasis is on the golden age of European postcard production, roughly 1900 to 1940: chromolithographs, phototypie, hand-tinted views, cartographic panoramas, and social history documents produced by the premier Swiss, Belgian, French, and German publishers of the era. Each card is researched before it's listed — publisher identification, dating evidence, historical context, and postal history — so what you're buying isn't just a pretty picture. It's a specific object with a traceable story.
Some listings go further. Cards with posted messages, archive connections, or exceptional historical depth include a full PDF provenance document: publisher history, dating analysis, stamp and cancel notes, and a complete transcription and translation of the message. Those listings are marked clearly.
Memory Den NL is the European continuation of Memory Den (etsy.com/shop/MemoryDen), a vintage shop with over 10,000 sales and a decade on Etsy. Same standards, different continent, different format.
