Rooted Mom Studio began with a simple desire: to create things that make a home feel warm, meaningful, and deeply loved.
I’m Mercy, a mother of three, writer, and lifelong maker. For years, creating with my hands has been one of the ways I’ve slowed down enough to notice the beauty hidden in ordinary life.
And somewhere along the way, I began wanting to create things that could hold those moments.
A prayer a mother might return to on a difficult day.
A poem that puts into words something she has felt but never quite known how to say.
A journal filled slowly, one handwritten page at a time.
Something she might hang in her home, keep beside her bed, or perhaps one day pass down to her children.
That is what Rooted Mom Studio is becoming.
Here you’ll find original handwritten poems, prayers, journals, and motherhood keepsakes, alongside the fiber art and handmade pieces that first began this little shop.
Much of my newest work is intentionally made in very small quantities, and some pieces are completely one of a kind. I write each word by hand, including the little variations and imperfections that come with something made by a real person rather than a machine.
I don’t want these pieces to feel mass-produced.
I want them to feel personal.
Like someone sat at a table, picked up a pen, and made something slowly for another mother to keep.
You’ll also find handmade pieces created by my mother-in-law, Tammy, whose crocheted work carries decades of skill, patience, and care in every stitch.
Rooted Mom Studio has changed over the years, just as motherhood has changed me. But the heart behind it has remained remarkably simple:
to make meaningful things for motherhood and home.
Things that remind us to slow down.
Things that make ordinary spaces feel a little more beautiful.
Things that say what our hearts sometimes struggle to put into words.
Things worth keeping.
