A beautiful day for a Mermaid on Cape Cod.
Mermaid Shack, the First Mermaid
A trip to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston to see the exhibit "From Paris to Provincetown" featuring white-line prints made mostly by women at the beginning of the 20th century started this journey. It was an honor to be trained in this art form by a descendant of an artist in the show. Carving each image on wood and printing each individual section is rewarding. I have created a digital version bringing this art form to the 21st century.
A friend asked me to design a mermaid for t-shirts and hats for her friends that were celebrating a special Halloween birthday. The first mermaid was designed as a white line print and transformed to be reproduced digitally. The Mermaid Shack was born.
Now I create art to celebrate the wonders of the ocean, the people that are drawn to it and those who crave to live by it. My Dad worked at the Boston Fish Pier for many, many years. On weekends and vacations he would pack up the car and Mom would pack the lunch, along with my sister and I, then we were off to Cape Cod for the day. And now, I live here. Inspiration for my art is at my fingertips.

Graphic Designer and sea lover. I believe in creating art which makes people smile. Living on Cape Cod leads me to ocean related products. I love to create white-line prints in watercolor and developed a method to create them on my computer.
