Middle of Nowhere is a place for hand-crafted items that you will enjoy for a long time to come! While our focus is on Fiber arts, from hand-dyed wools, hand-spun yarns, and hand-woven, wearable, art, we also have those who dabble in wood and metal working and visiting artists may include any medium. We literally live in the Middle of Nowhere in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas.
We have Lea Grant, fiber artist, working in wool and alpaca mostly, but occasionally with silk, mohair, angora and yak. Most of her fibers are in the form of yarns, but she also felts, weaves and knits. Her inventory changes often, so check back regularly!
We also have Erik Grant, wood and metal artist. His works include tri-loom frames, small hand looms, and weaving tools like the Niddy Noddy. He is currently starting to work with metal and hopefully, before long, we'll have his hand-forged knives for sale!
We also have other guest artisans that can come and go, but aren't permanent fixtures. The items they have will come and go fast, so please,. check back often, as our inventory constantly changes.
Many of our artists are disabled, and your purchase will not only give them a loving home for their art, but also a needed boost to a fixed income. We pride ourselves on being a place for quality handicrafts and unique gifts, hand made with love and great care.
