Hi there!

Midnight Oil Studio & Workshop is a screen print shop specializing in original, hand drawn, hand-pulled prints. We are Allison & Jonathan Metzger, and together, we make up Midnight Oil. We created this studio because we love well-crafted, handmade art.

In the spring of 2013, we both received our Masters degrees of Fine Art at the University of Kansas. A year later, we got married on the Northshore of Lake Superior! Our studio is currently based out of Des Moines, Iowa. We believe that art has the power to educate, as well as bring joy to everyday life. Growing up in the Midwest, we are passionate about sharing the unique places and objects of the USA.

Every screen print has been carefully printed and packaged by us, the artists. Quality is very important to us! For that reason, we use high quality, archival inks and always print on archival, 100% recycled paper. Whenever possible, we use recycled materials in our packaging.
