I grew up doing a lot of things with my hands. Depending on my mood, I would either be designing, creating, sculpting, drawing, painting or building things. I was also into photography. My boyfriend, who is now my husband, once asked me what I like doing the most. I said, “Everything.” To which he answered, “You should focus on the one thing you love to do.”

I continued on with life working as a graphic designer at that time. We got married and I later quit my job to work with my husband full time helping him with his freelance work doing illustrations for Disney. For over 20 years, we had a very busy season and also a very slow season, but God continually provided for us. When the pandemic hit this year there was no job at all for us.

I started wondering what I’m really passionate about. I never gave an answer to my husband back when we were dating. As I was processing, I realized that even though I enjoyed my work as a graphic designer and an artist, my heart was somewhere else. I started realizing that what I really love doing is being in God’s word and helping people grow deeper in their relationship with God through His word. Then God brought me back to when I was around 10 years old when I told my Sunday school teacher, “When I grow up I want to do paintings with God’s word written on it.”

So here I am to where my heart was when I was 10, using God’s given gift to do designs with His word shared on it. I don’t know where this will lead me, but I might have designs covering different areas of interest. Most of all I’m hoping that the designs that proclaim the word of God will introduce and lead people to seek God and His word, to discover and know Him through His word, and to bring them into a deep relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
