Putting my sewing skills to work!
I started my shop after retiring from teaching for 30 years. I taught Health, Physical Education, Basic Skills, Stem, Gifted and Talented and Preschool until Covid hit in 2020. I was not ready to retire from teaching, but since I am 71 years old, I was afraid to catch the virus from all the children I would be around. I turned my love of sewing into my Etsy Shop after being retired for about a year and needed to keep busy. I have been sewing as a hobby all my life. I support the local animal shelter by sewing blankets for them and designing items that help them when they have adoption days. I also sew for a non profit which provides dresses for poor children in several states in the US. It seemed like a natural progression to use my skills and sell items on Etsy. I am a very small shop and am hoping to expand but love providing items for my customers. I am always willing to take suggestions from customers about what they might want and welcome comments. I decided to have free shipping for my items as this is a fun hobby for me and hopefully I make a small amount of money to help in my retirement.
My other hobby is running! I ran Big Sur in California and a challenge at DIsney World, running 26 miles in 3 consecutive days. Running keeps me healthy and happy as well.
Let me brighten your day with one of my items!
