Man, I just love models and miniatures and here's why:
I feel that one of the core, essential joys of tabletop gaming is envisioning imagined worlds, and sharing those visions with each other. Those imagined worlds might be hopeful visions of a better future, or they may be horrible dark fantasies and nightmares. Regardless of what style of world we are getting a glimpse into in our gaming, the glimpsing itself is a magical thing.
In the summer of '23, I was attending a science fiction and fantasy model convention here in Louisville. On display were movie models, props, gaming miniatures, gundam kits, and various other versions of the imaginary in miniature form. I realized that my love of model making is tied directly to that love of shared tabletop visions of the unreal. Models and miniatures are the form of expression that is within my grasp for sharing the realms that exist only in my mind, to make them real, physical, and observable.
Since then, I've been honing my 3D printing skills and learning new techniques for model painting. My goal is to use this shop to help you bring shared visions to your tabletop. I put in the hard work of printing, preparing, and painting miniature worlds so that you and your friends concentrate on gaming and making your own shared universes.
My current system is to create small to medium terrain pieces, 3D printed in UV resin. Using a resin printer allows for a greater level of detail, without visible layer lines. I paint the models with a variety of techniques, using a mix of acrylics, inks, and enamels, to get the most evocative look.
I hope that this just the beginning, and in the future I can devote more and more time and effort to creating models, and giving form to our shared visions.
