About

Forest Fairy Jewellery

I started making jewellery when I was 17, with metal clay fired with a small creme brulee torch on a brick, on my mothers kitchen table.
I then when to school to become a goldsmith, and took my journeymans certificate in 2013. The same year I was selected to represent my country in the Nordic Championship for goldsmiths, and was awarded shared 4th place.
For a while I worked with repairs in the local goldsmith shop, owned by the headmaster of the goldsmith school I attended. I regretfully had to quit when my own business became a fulltime job, and I could no longer keep up with both.

I design and create my engagement rings and other jewellery in my little workshop in the forest, inspired by the nature around me.
I work by shaping metal by hand, using a saw, files and pliers, and solder it all together with a flame torch.
I also hand carve wax, and have it cast into solid metal, with help from a friend who does the casting, and then continue work on the metal piece.

I am open for custom orders in gold, so message me to talk about your dream engagement ring or wedding band.

Shipping
I ship from Norway.

Some of my items are made to order, meaning that I will make it for you once you place the order. My waitlist varies, so please look at the timeframe stated on each listing, under the "Shipping and Policies" tab, and the date that appears as the "Ready to ship by" date when you add the item to your cart.
Feel free to message me if you're in a rush, I might be able to rush your order.

Untracked shipping usually takes 1-3 weeks internationally, but I have no control over this, and do not accept returns because a package arrives later than you expected.
If you need something by a specific date, feel free to message me and I'll see if I can rush your order.

UPS is 2 day shipping to most of the world, and overnight in Europe.

Unique and hard to replace items must be sent with tracked and registred package with UPS.

On some items, you may choose between untracked regular mail, or tracked registered mail.

You can find the shipping upgrades at checkout. Untracked packages may take longer, sometimes as much as 4 weeks, while tracked ones usually takes 2 days.
How fast a package arrives depends on the efficiency of your local postal system.
Additional policies and FAQs
-GOLD-
I use palladium white gold, not the standard nickel white gold. This means that all my white gold products are nickel free. Nickel is a cheap non-precious metal, while palladium is a precious metal in the platinum group. I use a white gold with a high palladium content, always 14-20% palladium. Low pd content golds look pale yellow, while high pd content makes for a deep grey white gold. I usually leave my gold unplated, to minimise maintenance. Nickel white gold is usually rhodium plated, but palladium white gold looks wonderful in it's own right.
I work in 14k or 18k, white, yellow or rose gold.

-PLATINUM AND PALLADIUM-
I'm happy to make rings in platinum or palladium.

-SILVER-
I use 925 Sterling Silver.
Please note that the oxidation on black silver may wear off a bit over time, especially in raised areas. This will create a new look of brighter high points and darker details. Reoxidizing silver to get it jet black again is also easy to have done at any jewellery shop.

Bright sterling silver will oxidize somewhat over time, and can be cleaned by using silver dip. I use Hagerty brand, but any kind works. This does not harm meteorites, but never use it with opals or pearls.
Privacy
I will not use your contact information for any other purpose than to fullfill your order.
I do not send marketing emails or newsletters at all.

Frequently asked questions
Are the meteorites genuine?

Yes, I use genuine Campo del Cielo meteorites.
I purchase my meteorites only from registered members of IMCA, who have very strict rules on who they allow as members, and they keep close watch on the authenticity of the products their members sell.
My meteorites have also been verified by a local meteorite expert.
I've sold meteorite jewellery to IFuckingLoveScience, and they sell them in their webshop.

You will recieve a card with information about your meteorite.

Campo del Cielo meteorites are not particularly rare, and are found in Argentina. Check out the wiki page for more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campo_del_Cielo

Care instructions

Meteorites are iron, and contain nickel.
They need to be kept clean and dry to prevent rust.
I've had my meteorite wedding ring for about three years now, with no signs of rust at all.
I take it off when I wash my hands or shower, and when the ring needs to be cleaned, I do so with warm soapy water and a baby tooth brush. The meteorite needs to be thoughrougly dried right away, and then oiled. I use coconut oil, but any oil will do.

The silver I use is Sterling Silver 925, and may tarnish over time, as sterling silver does. Use a silver dip purchased at a jewellery store, and follow the instructions for it. You can dip the meteorites in it.
The gold does not tarnish, but may need to be polished once in a while.

Custom and personalized orders

I am open for custom orders in gold or platinum!
I have a large collection of precious gemstones, and I am able to source any stone you wish, if I don't have it in stock already.

I am currently not doing custom orders in silver or brass, but I do offer some ring designs that can be made to your size.

Conflict free and ethically sourced diamonds

I use conflict free diamonds, soruced ethically from diamond suppliers working closely with the miners and cutters, ensuring good working conditions, and giving back to the communities.
Buying real diamonds supports some of the poorest communities in the world, and while there is still a lot to be desired, the diamond trade continues to move towards a better conditions.

I use raw and rustic diamonds, becuase they are so beautifully marked by nature, and the process of creation they went through over millions of years. The huge jewellery chains do not want these, so by buying them, the miners get to sell their product, which they otherwise wouldn't be able to.
There are also fewer links between miner and end customer on these.

Vintage Diamonds

I also really like using vintage diamonds. Reuse and recycling is so important for our planet.
By buying old diamonds, you get one that is already in the market, no additional environmental strain is put on our planet.

In addition to the sustainability aspect, vintage diamonds are also extremely beautiful. Old European Cut look so ethereal, and fit beautifully with a nature-inspired style.

Moissanite

I very much love moissanites!
They're nearly as hard as diamonds, reflect even more light, so they sparkle more than diamonds. And they cost a fraction of the size!

I use high quality moissanites, colourless or near colourless, from Charles and Colvard or custom cuts from NEO Moissanite.

Moissanites are available in any cuts, I can custom order one for you if you have something specific in mind!

Moissanites were first discovered within a meteorite, so I love combining them with real meteorites in rings and jewellery.
