My second item from this shop. The items are beautiful and I'm so happy to give them a home. They were wrapped perfectly and the box arrived in tact and quickly. Only sad thing is one of the cups has a chip on the rim (which I don't recall seeing in the item description), causing a fracture that runs down the entire side of the cup. Doesn't seem to be related to packing or shipping. The cup unfortunately is damaged enough that it can't safely hold liquid. Such a bummer, because it's not truly a set of 12. I likely won't be entertaining a dozen people so not to worry, but I do wish I had known prior to ordering (though I likely would have ordered anyway).

A Time of Gentility

The year was 1876. Harriett Reese Jones had come home from attending Vassar College and Ohio Female Academy. It was unusual at that time for a woman to be college educated, let alone be a businesswoman. But Harriett's perseverance was well known and as a survivor of Scarlet Fever, she wouldn't let anyone or anything hold her back. She started businesses, managed them, maintained a household, and continued the honor of her parents in Magnolia Knoll. In later years, she became known as Miss Hattie to her closest of friends and did enjoy the finer things in life. Over the years, her home had become a treasure box of beautiful adornments from traveling the globe.

The year is now 2019 and we continue to honor the legacy of this home and its matriarch, Harriett Reese Jones, who has long since passed, but still occasionally walks the hallways checking on progress and business.

We hope you enjoy the treasures we present to you from the never ending china hutch. Thank you for visiting our store.
