My name is Misty Young. I am a nature-focused artist and photographer based in a small town in central Missouri. My work is rooted in close observation of native plants, pollinators, birds, and other wildlife, many of which are found in the habitats I have intentionally created and maintained on our property.
I spend a great deal of time studying native plant species and host plants and their role in supporting healthy ecosystems. As both a nature photographer and an artist, I focus on accuracy, education, and respect for the natural world. Each species has a specific purpose within its ecosystem, and understanding those relationships informs the artwork, designs, and products I create.
In addition to fine art nature photography and handmade items like my bookmarks and wildflower necklaces, my shop now includes illustrated designs, apparel, and nature-inspired gifts created and designed by me to educate, advocate for native plants, and encourage conservation-minded choices. Much of my work reflects real species, real habitats, and the ongoing process of restoring native landscapes to support insects, birds, and wildlife.
