More than Nerdy Toys/Sculptures
Sculpting started more emotionally than a simple means of expression for me. It was a coping tool to deal with the death of my uncle. An artist first and a surgeon second, he was inspirational to me, and when he died, art became my way to spend time with him after he passed.
After my first few pieces, various people approached me to make pieces for them and I was happy to do it. Since then, I've made around a hundred pieces in the short span of a year, and to make things even better, my beautiful wife has taken up sculpting; together, we explore where our creativity takes us.
Every piece is more than a ball of clay, a mound of vinyl or a pot full of paint, it's a piece of me, my passion, my relationship with my uncle. It's a representation of our marriage, and our love for creating together. It's something we get to share with others and that is truly amazing.
Our pieces are various combinations of polymer clay added onto vinyl bases, or made entirely from scratch. Many of our pieces listed will be resin cast, and part of a series, unless otherwise mentioned. All will be hand-painted by me or my wife. I tend to gravitate towards established characters, as I tend to get wrapped up in their fantastic worlds, but there will be original characters showcased now and again.
