Hi, I’m Lisa!
I truly believe that I was born to create. My earliest memories are of drawing pictures, writing (probably nonsensical!) stories, making clothes for my dolls with the help of my grandmother; I just always wanted to be designing and crafting.
That love of creating never left me, and it developed into a passion for homemaking. To me, homemaking is about curating a cosy, inviting and comfortable space, filled with laughter and memories. A space where its inhabitants can escape from the world; a sanctuary from the demands of modern life.
When my husband and I bought our first home, I struggled to find wall décor that was quite right. My style has always been somewhere between modern and retro; traditional and fresh, and I couldn’t find anything that straddled the line quite perfectly. So I decided that I would take on the task myself and design my own prints to adorn our walls!
From there, I thought I would start an Etsy shop to see if other people shared my love of the modern vintage aesthetic, and when the sales started coming in, I realized that they probably did!
That was how The Modern Homemaker was born, and I’ve been passionate about creating beautiful prints ever since. My heart sings every time I get another positive review. It’s the best feeling in the world to know that I am helping people bring colour and happiness to their home, one print at a time!
