Modern Nature Studio: My Creative World
Opening a shop on Etsy was my first step in turning my love of jewelry design into a business. I started designing jewelry in 2008 and opened a shop on Etsy in November of 2009. Within two weeks I had my first sale, followed by several more! Being creative for a living is an amazing experience, but having people purchase your art is truly a gift!
My love for jewelry design started with the beads. I am drawn to the colors and textures of them and intrigued by how they are made and where they come from. I really enjoy working with artisan beads, supporting local artists, and beads created to help support villages in distant lands. Nature is the most affluent influence in my creativity. I am also drawn to contemporary style. I take elements from each, combining them to create jewelry that is fun and unique and most importantly speaks from the heart.
I also sell my jewelry at art festivals, craft shows and home shows. I have had my work featured in shops in New York, Maryland and Virginia. Several of my pieces have been published in Bead Style, Bead Trends, Creative Jewelry, 101 Bracelets, Necklaces and Earrings, Jewelry Stringing and Modern Reston.
