Modern Prims.. Something old with something new..
I came from a family filled with crafty people! I guess that would be how it all started. My mom always had me and my sister and brothers sitting at the kitchen table cutting snowflakes from paper and doing things like that. There were many Christmases that I can remember my mom receiving a piece of wood as her present - and that made her happy! She had a bandsaw that we were never allowed to touch...
So of course, fast forward many years, I come home from work one day and there was a bandsaw sitting in my garage with a big bow and a bottle of champagne! It was a birthday gift from my husband. He is so extremely thoughtful.. and supportive of everything I do.
I took to the bandsaw like it was something that was made specifically for me. Since then I have put it to good use. I started doing shows about 15 years ago and haven't stopped. I have 3 kids and a full time job so it was a gradual process. When it took off, I also started adding my items into various country stores and local markets.
Over the years, when I had somewhat of a following, I started to get asked the question, "where can I buy your stuff online?" You couldn't! I had to fix that! So late in 2015, I opened this Etsy store. It is still a work in progress.. probably one that will never be quite finished! I am still trying to find some of my customers and hopefully they are still trying to find me!
I hope that one day, when my 3 kids are older, this is something that I can do full time. I love making and creating, but most of all, I love to see the joy in people's faces when they pick up one of my pieces and realize that I made it just for them - whether they buy it or don't, if it can start a smile that spreads to others, my job is done.
