From Monika to Monala. How I turned my hobby into my brand.
Some 10 years ago, I only loved to create something nice to myself. First it was a freehand crochet dress that everyone was jealous of, then feather decorated dress for my sister's wedding - again lots of questions "where to get" and "how much", then a limited unique collection to please my inner creativity gods and goddesses - print photos of this one were exhibited at number of galleries and I even walked a catwalk in my own made dressed at the fashion shows couple of times.
But that wasn't enough. So I created a brand that would be available for everyone. All my heart, lots of working hours and even more of patience was put into making this happen. But I couldn't be happier.
Today Monala knitwear is an ethical clothing brand offering unique handmade knit garments perfectly suitable for women who want to maintain their wardrobes minimalistic, basic and versatile. All pieces are knitted from 100% merino wool, using a manual knitting machine. All seams are sewn with a sewing machine and hand crafted to give the best quality. The whole production process of one item or a two-piece set is performed by one crafter. Before shipping - each garment is always carefully checked by myself.

I already shipped my knitwear to the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Italy, France, Ireland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and I can't wait to expand this list even more.
My team currently consist of myself - owner, designer and main manager, marketing manager and two professional knitters. Not to forget my nearly 2-year-old son, who is the helper and the biggest motivator in every step.
