Plating is a process where a layer of gold or silver is placed on to coat the surface of another metal. Extra care should be taken to maximize its lifespan. Anything plated will eventually tarnish with time and wear. To avoid this, customize your selection with a Sterling Silver or Gold Filled chain whenever possible.

Sterling silver chains will oxidize over time; simply keep the chain clean with a soft cloth to buff it back to a lustrous state. Sterling silver will not lose its color.

Gold filled chains go through a process where 14k gold gets pressure bonded to a base metal like brass and has 100% more gold than plated gold. It will not rub off, flake off, or otherwise turn colors.

Do not spray on perfume or other sprays while wearing your jewelry!

Wait until your lotion or cream is fully absorbed by your skin before putting on your piece.

Keep your pieces away from sweat. Make sure you remove your plated jewelry when you exercise, or when near substances like oil, nail polish remover, chlorine, or perfume.

Clean your plated jewelry with a cotton ball or a very soft cloth to remove any dust and dirt. Do not use a polishing cloth as this can expedite the stripping of color.

Store in a dry area, away from your steamy bathroom. Also do not store gold plating and silver plating pieces together. The different metals can cause the other to tarnish, fade and/or turn colors.

Please note that customized orders CANNOT be returned or exchanged. This includes choosing a length other than the default length, or choosing to customize your piece with sterling or gold filled chains.

If problems arise due to quality, we would be happy to assist, just let us know! Otherwise your customized piece is yours to keep.

Not sure which length is suitable? Simply wrap a string around your neck to your desired length, and measure it with a ruler! You can also measure an already beloved piece to make sure your new Monday Ink piece will have the same appearance.

Here are some quick references on common necklace lengths for adults:

14" - 15": choker. Wraps close on the base of neck.
16": standard short. Hits the collar bone.
17": Princess length. Sits below collar bone.

We ship using USPS First Class with Tracking, and expedited options are available. First Class delivery times are usually 2 to 10 business days depending on your location and the efficiency of the post office.

International:

International orders will be shipped USPS First Class International with Tracking for a flat rate of $11. Delivery time varies, please visit the USPS website for timing estimates. Expedited options available upon request, please contact us for rates.

Orders are shipped Monday - Saturday.
