I invite you into my closet of inspiration....
I have been a freelance accessories designer for the past 14
years, creating handbags, hats, gloves and scarves
for young companies seeking a signature look. Every project I undertake starts with examining samples from
my vintage collection. A highlight of my work is hunting down inspiring antique items to ignite my design process. People like my work
because it doesn't look manufactured. There is usually a reference to the past, work by hand such as embroidery or weaving and an effortless chic vibe.
In a previous life, before moving abroad and having children, I lived in NYC and worked for
Ralph Lauren at his flagship store on Madison and 72nd, and later, for Eleanor Lambert, the founder of the CFDA
and one of the most amazing women I have ever known. Her grand apartment on Fifth Avenue, with its mattress ticking on the bedroom walls, lofty cabinets filled with pressed linens, crimson library laden with giant books on art and punctuated with bronze sculpture, personalized Cecil Beaton photographs and Dalí drawings casually hung on the wall, was legendary to me.
Later, living in Europe and Latin America for over 10 years, my favorite moments were spent at local flea markets or traveling the countryside, finding exquisite work by amazing people, whether they were recognized designers
or anonymous artisans in small villages.
Now I open my closet of vintage treasures to you, with the hope you will
find creating your signature look as exciting as I do.
