My store originally launched in December of 2020. It started out as a collaboration with my sister-in-law, Tiff. Who can be found at her own Etsy shop @TwitchyItchyWitchy.
In March of 2021, my sister decided to focus her attention to her own practice and I took the helm of this ship. The shop was rebranded to Moosleute to match my own interests. Moosleute is German for "Moss people." It refers to the forest fae, who in folklore are described to have a deep connection to the forest and trees.
I have an education in anthropology and am currently working on my masters degree in Elementary Education. I am a mother of an adorable one year old and married to a very talented luthier. I carry a heavy interest in folklore, herbalism, animism, paganism, archaeology, and linguistics. I love everything fae, forest, and witchy and I hope that you feel the mysticism within my wares.
My hope with my shop is to spread a little magick, help others hone their own, and hope to rekindle a reverence for the spirits this realm holds. In my shop and boxes, I provide the tools to practice this ancient and often forgotten art. Folklore is my passion. I believe that there is no wrong way to one's magickal practice, provided it's done without malicious intent.
Every month, I feature another magickal artist and strive to source my monthly boxes from local and small businesses. I am fortunate to have two wonderful artists currently on my team, who help me keep this shop operating and lovely. You can find them on instagram at @sonofashoosh and @syncrownicity.
