Choosing the Path Between the Stars
My name is Marian Gloria and I am a jeweler and metalsmith living in Los Angeles, California. I started my career in fashion by dressing one of the most iconic women in the world: Barbie. My love of fashion and jewelry began at the early age of 4, when I started fashioning dresses out of tissue, toilet paper, and scraps of any paper I could get my hands on. Like any stylist trying to please a high-profile client, I may have bent the rules and “borrowed” some diamonds from my mother’s jewelry box without permission, only to have my client claim to lose them. It happens to the best of us.
Since then, I’ve worked as a fashion journalist, editor, buyer, wardrobe stylist, and personal shopper with over 15 years of fashion experience under my belt. I was the head apparel and accessories buyer for a chain of boutiques in Manhattan, when fate intervened and brought me to the beautiful state of California where I rediscovered a love for creating things and most importantly, a chance to hone my metalsmithing and jeweler skills.
So I packed it all up and traded Fashion Week and trade shows for hours of grueling manual labor (that I absolutely love). Picking out accessories and jewelry was always the most fun part of my job as a buyer, and making them is even better. Every piece in my shop is created and finished by hand.
