We're closing down.
Morphic has been an incredible journey and we have immensely enjoyed connecting with you all over the last 8 years. Ever since the earthquakes in our city a few years ago it has become harder for us to support ourselves financially from making clothing.
Having a solid base at the Art Centre really was key to our enjoyment of making clothing. We were able to interact with people on a weekly basis, try out new designs, and be inspired to keep creating. Over the last couple of years we have lost that and it has become less enjoyable.
It is sad to be letting go of what we have built with your help. But we are excited about what the future holds. Halee is planning to study towards a new career and Ray is already working as a freelance graphic designer.
There will be some of you who will be upset by this news and we are really sorry. We haven't made this decision lightly.
We want to give you one last chance to get any Morphic gear you need to see you through. We will be shutting up shop on the 31st of July 2014, make sure to get in touch before then.

Morphic is a blend of essential ingredients, carefully cut, printed, tailored and sewn to fit the individual to provide comfort and heaps of good times.
These essential ingredients include: NZ's best locally grown and made natural fabrics; a diverse variety of rich, vibrant and earthy colours and quirky unique designs that give the wearer a distinctive look. These ingredients are combined and refined with Halee's expert sewing skills before being carefully wrapped and shipped off across the world.
Growing up around the family horse cover making factory gave Halee an early exposure to the world of industrial sewing machines and the delights of design. She soon began making her own clothing. Often people would stop Halee in the street, or on the dance-floor and ask her where her unique clothes came from. In this way Morphic Creations began.
On one of those dance-floors during a weekend away, I (Ray) ran into Halee for the first time. By ran into I mean I tripped up and broke my thumb. While applying ice we chatted about life, design and being self-employed. I loved Halee's clothing designs and bought some clothing from her before heading back to design school in Dunedin.
Fast-forward a few years through market stalls and earthquakes to the present... Halee and I live in a lovely little house/clothing studio by the sea. We've got four pretty chickens, one massive vege-garden and an exciting boutique clothing design business that connects us with wonderful people the world over.
PS A little reminder: If you want a special slice of Morphic this Christmas, then now is the time to get in. US, Europe and Australian orders need to be placed by Friday November 30th to ensure they are made and shipped to arrive on time.
