I placed it in my pet snails' (and isopods') tank. They lovingly gobbled all the lichen up and it was so cool to see them going crazy over it. An important food for native Australian gastropods is lichen and other organic biofilm and where I live in the city it's hard to get it. Little warning though - it came with a little hitchhiker (a cornu aspersum baby, no mites or anything nasty) which has since been adopted by these snails. So if a hitchhiker is something you don't want, I recommend checking the bag of lichen thoroughly before you put it in. Aside from that, lichen was healthy, very much alive and appreciated by mollusc, crustacean and human alike.
