The U.S. Postal Service has recently announced a “temporary” rate increase of 8% beginning April 26, 2026 through January 17, 2027 for Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select. As I primarily use USPS Ground Advantage, I am having to adjust my pricing. I have been happy with the USPS — no lost packages in 10 years, and only a couple packages delayed for a few days due to weather). I will always look for the best shipping rates in order to keep prices as low as possible.

Organic Apple Wood perches are back in stock! Bird (and other small pet) cage perches are from organic apple trees that grow on my farm. You are welcome to make a special request for a perch of your own design.

The wood for items in my shop are almost entirely from the forests and yards around my home town, East Aurora, New York. I have harvested black cherry burl, curly maple, spalted maple, black walnut, white ash, and black locust from trees that needed, for one reason or another, to be taken down. I am involved in the process from felling the tree, to sawing it into lumber, to drying it, and to crafting it into the pieces that you see in my shop. The exception is the Carpathian elm burl items that are from trees that grew in Eastern Europe.
