Your Pen Pal Post was created from a love of handwritten letters and the quiet magic of snail mail.
When I was in fourth grade, I had a pen pal from another country. I remember the excitement of writing her back, but even more, the feeling of seeing her letter arrive in the mail. It felt special — like a small window into someone else’s world.
Life moved on, and we lost touch for many years. Then, as adults, we found each other again on Facebook. Not long after, we started writing letters once more. Through those letters, we shared our lives, our thoughts, and the little moments that don’t always fit into a text message. It reminded me how beautiful, grounding, and fun letter writing can be.
That experience stayed with me.
