Announcement   These wood art creations are all handcrafted in my Atlanta workshop. From sketching the design to the moment when the blade cuts through the wood on my scrollsaw's cast iron table; from sanding the rough edges of the wood to finishing the art to meet each customer's request and vision, I spend a great deal of time with each piece of wood in my hands. If you are looking for art that honors the natural beauty of the wood or art that brings a positive message to life, I believe that you have come to the right place.

Charlie Charger hopped up while I was taking pictures of fresh love heARTs. He took a break from spring chasing and kale chomping to give these his approval. If you are looking for a way to spread more love, you may find these heARTs to be a useful tool.

About

Bringing beautiful and positive messages into our world one piece of wood at a time.

While still in elementary school, I set up a small woodshop in the corner of my family's dark and humid Stone Mountain basement. There, with a soundtrack of overhead footsteps and cricket songs, I began to work with a hammer, nails, and a simple hand saw. I don't remember what projects, if any, I finished during those early days, but I do remember the sense of promise and peace that I felt as I worked at my table. A purpose discovered and lived into there in my mostly subterranean world.

Fast forward through a couple of decades of school and teaching, and thankfully, i reconnected with my love of creating. This resurgence began with ceramic tiles found tossed in a dumpster and the chance to give them a new life as mixed media creations. From there, I let my love of power tools dictate the path and I purchased a scroll saw. It was love at first cut.

Everything you see here is created by me in my workshop near Decatur, Georgia. I work with a variety of wood; reclaimed or re-purposed when possible, and the rest is purchased from local wood shops. I love meeting people who have built their lives around wood and art and learning from them along the way. My intention for my work is to create beautiful pieces of art that honor the wood and also spread love and positivity.

Each creation you see here is a true labor of love at each step of the journey. Pieces of wood are carefully hand chosen with consideration given to their stability, grain pattern, their story, their color and other qualities. I prepare and cut each piece individually using my scroll saw; they find shape on its well loved cast iron table. Once cut, a great deal of sanding and detail work takes place to bring the design to life. Pieces are then either finished with a combination of varnish and oil to showcase their natural grain or they are given many coats of paint by hand.

It takes many steps and processes to get the wood from plank form into the finished pieces. Please note: If the listing says "made to order," please be advised that the creation time will likely take two weeks before your piece is ready to ship. Need a piece quickly or by a certain date? Please send me a message so I can work with you and meet your needs.

Don't feel limited by what you see here, I always welcome new ideas and requests. Custom orders are available. If you have something in mind or are curious about a possibility, please send me a message.

This shop and the support that I am finding here for my art are a dream come true. Thank you for taking the time to visit and see my work.

Welcome to MuseFire Art!

Here you will find original and inspiring wood art creations made in my Atlanta, GA workshop.

No two pieces of wood are exactly alike and the same is true for my work. Crafting each piece of art by hand contributes to some unique differences in grain pattern, wood color, and exact shape. The art I make is original and handcrafted, you won't mistake my work for machine manufactured pieces. All art sold here is cut, shaped, sanded, stained/painted, and finished by my hands.

Please feel free to message me with custom ideas and inquiries.

Shipping
The shipping price includes packing supplies and postage. It often takes a lot of protective material to keep the wood safe during its travels. I re-purpose as many packing materials as possible during the shipping process to reduce waste.

Sending as a gift? All items can be gift wrapped and personalized with a message from you. Just leave "note to seller" letting me know what you would like the gift's tag to say.

Receipts are sent automatically to your email upon purchase and contain all relevant information. To cut back on paper waste, I do not send a printed receipt with order unless you are purchasing several items. If you would like a paper receipt, please inform me in a "note to seller" upon checkout and I will happily send one along with your order.

Please see shipping time estimates on items before purchasing. Usual turnaround time for a piece labeled "made to order" is 14 business days to create your order before it is completed and ready to ship. It takes time for these handcrafted creations to dry between the stages of painting or finishing. Custom works may take longer to design and create. Please check the SHOP ANNOUNCEMENT for any changes or news of broader delays.

There will be an email confirmation and tracking number sent for all shipped orders.

If you need an order rushed, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate. You can also upgrade the shipping to USPS Priority Mail during the shipping step of your order.

MuseFire Art can not be responsible for items lost in the mail, but please let me know if the item does not arrive and I will do my best to help track it down.
