Il mio negozio è iniziato con un'idea e un sogno. Il mio sogno era quello di essere un'artista indipendente che amava il suo lavoro. L'idea era quella di creare sculture uniche come topper per torte nuziali. Quel sogno e quell'idea sono diventati realtà per me.
Ma la vera storia è come sono arrivato a quell'idea e a quel sogno. All'inizio del 2011 mi sono trovato di fronte alla perdita del lavoro, mi è stato dato un preavviso di 3 mesi. In quel periodo avevo alcune domande difficili da risolvere. Potrei andare a prendere un altro lavoro di graphic design, lavorando per un salario basso e facendo un lavoro che mi piaceva solo. Potrei tornare a scuola, ma avevo già 6 anni di istruzione post-secondaria, tra cui un Bachelor of Fine Arts, sterile supply certificate e Advanced Wed Design Certificate. Non c'erano altri programmi che volevo prendere o che potevo permettermi. Quel sogno che dovevo fare l'artista autonomo... era una possibilità? Ho deciso che fin da quando ero giovane (nei miei 20 anni) che fare quel salto di lavoro autonomo sarebbe stato meglio ora che dopo. Con il supporto del mio fantastico marito (allora fidanzato) sono stata in grado di fare quel salto e provarlo. Non avevo idea se avrebbe funzionato o meno, e c'era molta ansia e incognite. Ma ha funzionato, e sono così grato alle persone e ai clienti che mi hanno supportato nel mio viaggio.
Non sono mai stato più felice nella mia vita di quanto lo sia ora. Adoro andare al lavoro ogni mattina, mi piace il tempo e adempiere a quasi tutti i ruoli nel business, e ce ne sono molti! Non sembra di lavorare quando ami fare quello che stai facendo.
Adoro quando le spose mi dicono che ho fatto loro qualcosa di così speciale che ne faranno tesoro per sempre. È un onore aiutare qualcuno con il suo giorno speciale ed essere una piccola parte di esso.
Ogni ordine è unico e ha le sue sfide. È una benedizione essere in grado di fare quello che faccio e ne faccio tesoro ogni giorno.
Penso che tu possa dire dai miei toppers che amo gli animali :) Voglio restituire agli animali la gioia che mi portano, quindi dono parte dei miei proventi mensilmente al World Wildlife Fund.
Adoro che le persone si stiano godendo i miei cake toppers! Recentemente sono stato presentato in molte tesorerie su Etsy, un enorme ringraziamento a tutti coloro che mi hanno incluso! Ogni topper che faccio è unico e individuale, sono divertenti da realizzare e sono divertenti da ricevere. Lavoro su ogni pezzo per diverse ore e amo ogni minuto di esso.

My shop started with an idea and a dream. My dream was to be a self employed artist who loved her job. The idea was to create unique sculptures as wedding cake toppers. That dream and that idea became reality for me.
But the real story is how I got to that idea and dream. In early 2011 I was faced with losing my job, I was given 3 months notice. In that time I had some hard questions to work out. I could go and get another graphic design job, working for a low wage and doing a job I only sort of liked. I could go back to school, but I already had 6 years post secondary education, including a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Sterile Supply Certificate, and Advanced Wed Design Certificate. There were no other programs that I wanted to take or could afford. That dream I had to be a self employed artist...was that a possibility? I decided that since I was young (in my 20's) that taking that leap of self employment would be better now then later. With the support of my amazing husband (then boyfriend) I was able to take that leap and give it a try. I had no idea if it would work out or not, and there was a lot of anxiety and unknowns. But it did work, and I am so thankful to the people and clients who have supported me in my journey.
I have never been happier in my life then I am now. I love going to work every morning, I enjoy the over time and fulfilling almost every role in the business, and there are a lot of them! It doesn't feel like work when you love doing what you're doing.
I love when brides tell me I've made them something so special they will treasure it forever. It is an honor to help someone with their special day and to be a tiny part of it.
Each order is unique and has it's own challenges. It is a blessing to be able to do what I do and I treasure that every day.
I think you can tell from my toppers that I love animals :) I want to give back to animals the joy they bring to me, so I donate some of my proceeds monthly to the World Wildlife Fund.
