My story begins with a box of broken jewelry...
Trying to fix some broken necklaces one night, I ended up taking them apart and combining my favorite parts into new pieces, and discovered it was SO MUCH FUN!
A Mad Beader is Born
Next I discovered beads and taught myself to hand-knot malas - long necklaces of 108 beads used in meditation (& fashion!). Believe me when I tell you I started beading ALL THE TIME and soon had LOTS & LOTS of mala beads to wear!
People began asking to buy my necklaces and that led me to open my Etsy Shop...which I promptly forgot about as I became busy leading mala-making workshops and doing occassional craft fairs. Fast forward a few years and then...
Kelly Decides to Design Shirts She Wants to Wear
I'm always looking for fun, creative tank tops to wear when I teach yoga classes. They make me feel confident, entertain my students, and are terrific conversation starters and community builders. But good ones are hard to find.
You know the adage "If you want something done, do it yourself?" Through the miracles of Google & Youtube, I learned a bunch and began designing the shirts I wanted to wear. Guess what happened? People asked where to buy them, I remembered my Etsy shop, and here we are today.

As a yoga teacher, I'm always looking for good ideas and material to inspire my teaching, and for many years I have kept my classes in a series of journals. One day I looked over at my row of journals and thought "I bet lots of people would find those useful!" So I wrote my first E-book, Shades of Yoga: The Chakra System, now available on Amazon for Kindle. My next book, likely titled 108 Themes, Sequences & Songs for Yoga Class is currently rattling around in my head.
