My Montana Life
I am the wife of a smoke-jumper and the stay at home mom of three wonderful kids. One who is no longer with me, but was most definitely the inspiration for this shop. My husband is out of town for work A LOT, and somehow a midst all the chaos of raising kids, often on my own, I developed a love of old wood. My mother-in-law had been saving a whole woodshed of her dad's old wood because she was just sure that some day it would have a purpose. She was right. I went to town creating different versions of home decor, I had been inspired by and loved. I put an old vintage spin on all of it, in honor of my beautiful home, Montana. Before I knew it I couldn't stop. I have long since used up all her wood and had to find some more of my own.
In keeping with my reclaimed theme, I try to re-use whatever I can. If your order shows up in an old box jam packed with crinkled up Montana newspaper, don't worry, I promise that what is inside will totally make up for it. However, don't be afraid to request a nice box, especially if this is a gift, I have many of those too.
I absolutely love watching the transformation of something old being brought back to life. I am so privileged that people are understanding my purpose and giving me a reason to continue. I absolutely love expressing myself through my art and hope it only gets better from here!
