Mom with Multiple Sclerosis Still Working and Thriving
I started my business as a bridal company (My One Stop Bridal Shop). Despite a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 2006, I continued working on the thriving business and made the decision to move onward and upward obtaining a warehouse/showroom and offices to house the inventory and run the business.
Along the way, the bridal business turned into a rhinestone design firm, which sells rhinestone designs wholesale and retail. I acquired two rhinestone placement machines and quickly won two large contracts. We were one of the first companies in the US to create custom rhinestone designs. We work worldwide on corporate, school, dance, gymnastics and cheer companies.
We were one of the first companies in the U.S. to offer custom rhinestone designs and are still one of the only companies making custom rhinestone car decals in the U.S.
Our designs have been seen on Real Housewives of Orange County, Tanked, America’s Best Dance Crew and such celebrities as Avril Lavigne, Natalie Cole, Shane Sparks, Tamra Judge, Heather King, Britney Spears, Caressa Cameron (Miss USA 2010), Mrs. USA and Little Miss USA.
I also started a private label clothing line, which goes by our parent company name Zaza Collections. It is sold in various stores and drop-shipped for numerous shopping websites. Zaza Collections feature a bridal line, baby line, kid’s line and a fun wine related line. Sticking with the company’s roots, and what I love most, the company still works with Brides on a daily basis.
I was featured in Entrepreneur Magazine in 2008 and nominated in 2009 for the Orange County Business Journal’s Women in Business Woman of the Year Award. My most recent achievement was being named one of Leading Moms in Business on StartupNation.com (2012 & 2013).
I attend numerous charity events during the year and donate items for auction to raise money. My main charities are MS Society and Race to Erase MS. We sell MS shirts featuring Zaza Collections’ designs to raise money for a cure.
I have a beautiful 15-year old daughter, Carina and a 10-year old son, Joshua.
