How I got started
I started sewing as a child by making clothes for my dolls and barbies. My mom and grandmother both made their own clothes and taught me a lot about sewing. I designed and made my prom and homecoming dresses as a teenager. I also made my own wedding dress. When my kids were little I made their pajamas and Halloween costumes. My daughter was a competitive figure skater and since the dresses were out of our budget at the time, I taught myself how to sew them. I also made prom and homecoming dresses for her friends. Eventually, I got the opportunity to design and make costumes for a local ice show. Since I wanted to branch out, I started a website to seek additional sewing opportunities. Over the next 26 years, my name was passed between dance studios, colleges, high schools, etc... from this, I have acquired several repeat customers over the years. I opened my ETSY store ten years ago just to see if I could accumulate enough business to quit my regular job and sew full-time. I'm happy to say that I have almost reach my goal. And, that is my story.
I have made many purchases on ETSY and feel that they are a great resource for homemade items. I appreciate your interest in my shop and hope to have you as a customer some day!!
