How it all started
What began as a delightful side project quickly evolved into a passion and a thriving business, thanks to the unwavering support and enthusiasm of my family and friends. It all started with the desire to create meaningful, handmade Christmas gifts for my relatives. When they loved the items I crafted, they began asking for more to share with their friends. Their encouragement ignited my creative spark and set me on a remarkable journey.
I took a leap of faith and started selling my popular designs on eBay, where they found homes almost immediately. It was in those early days that I challenged myself to craft more intricate and beautiful designs. These creations often produced a surplus of wood scraps, which I refused to let go to waste. Instead, I turned them into something wonderful – a toy wooden train set. To my delight, these trains also became a hit.
Today, NWA Wood Design creations can be found in galleries in Bentonville and are readily available through our active Etsy store. Every product you'll find is a labor of love, crafted with the highest standards and rigorously inspected before listing for sale. I believe that quality shouldn't come at an exorbitant price, so I ensure that my products are reasonably priced, allowing everyone to enjoy high-quality, handmade items.
I take great pride in handpicking each piece of wood, most of which is locally sourced here in Northwest Arkansas. This ensures that our creations are not only beautiful but built to last for many years, a testament to our commitment to sustainability and quality.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my journey is the opportunity to mentor high school students in woodworking. Passing on my knowledge and skills to the next generation of woodworkers is a true joy. At present, I am fortunate to have three students working alongside me, contributing their passion and dedication to our craft.
