About NativeBackyards
Welcome to Native Backyards!
This is your source for native plant and pollinator garden signs, t-shirts and downloadable garden planning templates ! 🌱☀️🌿 I create products to help you spread the word about the importance of gardening with native plants that help the Earth!
If you are gardening with native plants that sustain insects, birds and other wildlife. you ROCK! Whether you have a large garden or a few container pots, you are making a real difference from your own yard. I want to help you celebrate your gardens with my products.
I started Native Backyards after becoming a certified Texas Master Naturalist and learning about the importance of growing plants that are native to your area (vs. have been introduced by humans from other parts of the world). As a long-time backyard flower gardener in my backyard in San Antonio, TX I saw an opportunity to make a real difference helping our planet while doing what I love.
In addition to NativeBackyards.com where you can find lots of native plant growing tips, I created this Etsy shop to provide fun products for native plant enthusiasts, pollinator gardeners, and wildlife gardeners. More fun products are in the works so stay tuned!
Are you new to native plants? I am constantly learning new things about native plants and I'm excited to share them with you. Did you know:
** The majority of our yards are currently filled with non-native plants including turf grass, shrubs and trees from other parts of the world.
**Native plants are the basis of the food chain - most plant-eating insects require native plants to live.
**Butterflies and moths rely on native plants as host plants for their caterpillars.
EVERY NATIVE PLANT YOU ADD TO YOUR YARD MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
I would absolutely appreciate any reviews you can provide for my products and send me a note to let me know what other products you'd like to see!
Happy Gardening! 🌻
