I'm Paula,the creator behind Native Styles.I have always been a creative soul. My first earrings were made when I was a little girl,out of a flint stone with hole and a shell I found at the Baltic Sea on a summer vacation.
I was this type of girl who could not wait for cherry season to wear my big red statement "Cherry Earrings"! :).
The fascination for native american bead work was always there. At every costume party I was little Pocahontas with handmade bead creations from head to toe.
My super inspiring family fed my creativity.My mom taught me among others sewing and knitting while my father took me into his carpenter workshop to work the hammers and screws listening to crazy free jazz music....:). The HIPPIE was in making:)
Starting 1993 I had great mentors at my optician workshop in Germany where I learned to work super precisely with my hands and pliers and materials like glass, metals,sometimes wood, bone & buffalo horn.
My Passion for weaving seed bead jewelry began a number of years ago, when I misplaced my favorite pair of native earrings.When I discovered my first beadshop and saw the rows and rows in all colors and shapes,I was hooked!
I started beading earrings like crazy...:), people noticed them and soon the whole neighborhood was wearing my jewelry.....and now I share with you! :)
I chose "Native Styles" because my jewelry is inspired by ALL Native Cultures
