The inspiration for Shine Skincare Co was to create a result oriented line of natural skincare products that help your inner beauty shine through.
My name is Kathleen and I am an entrepreneur and a self-love advocate.
As the vision and face behind the beauty brand, Shine Skincare Co, I knew that I needed to use my position of influence for good. My company is dedicated to balancing health and natural skincare, but it’s also dedicated to helping women break past abuse and trauma through self-love. My experience with domestic abuse happened as a young adult and was the catalyst for my journey to self love and emotional healing. I have since moved past it through the love and support of others, but it will remain a part of my lived experience and I cannot keep quiet about these issues. I believe that we can move past our traumas and while the road may be difficult at times, having a community of other survivors, other women, and other organizations for support is essential for long term wellbeing.
When I opened Shine Skincare Co (formerly Naturally Beautiful) in 2012, I wanted to reclaim my own power by giving back to others. I spent a many years working in the spa industry, with a holistic health coach and studying holistic healing to fine tune my selection of skincare products. After several years of preparation, I opened my Etsy storefront in 2016. Skincare, to me, is a way to learn how to love your body one moment, one day at a time. I do not identify as a victim and I do not want others to feel as though they will be trapped by their circumstances. It took me awhile to find my path to self-love and it is my honor and my duty to help others find their way. To that end, a portion of all sales will go directly to supporting persons in need through the non profit WEAVE. Shine Skincare Co represents more than just skincare products; it represents an acknowledgement of our natural beauty and strength from within and it also represents a healthy attitude about beauty. When you purchase from me, you are supporting products that promote healthy rituals of self-care, love, and confidence.
