My designs at NECRONOMICHARM are heavily inspired by pop culture with a focus on the darker side. I mostly use classic symbols common to different genres of films and music: death metal, horror, punk rock, 80s new wave, Sci fi, darkwave, hard rock, fantasy, black metal, stoner rock, noise music, abstract opera, krautrock, prog rock, math metal and every video of baby animals wrapped in tiny blanlets. Basically, all music and films that are nihilistic, campy, intense and absurd.

As a teen in the 80's I've lived through many awesome trends. I identified with the valley girls back then. The valley girls were totally new wave, listened to the b52's, the cure and devo, with fashion that was all about color and geometry. Three swatch watches, mermaid skirt with oversized sweater and bilevel permed hair for me.   The "burnouts" had a heavy metal aesthetic with iron maiden, thin lizzy and black sabbath tapes in their boom boxes, faded jersey style rock shirts and old blue jeans, always with a comb in their pockets to keep their hair perfectly feathered.  The punks had skulls, mohawks, plaid pants and spikes while moshing to the circle jerks and DRI. The goths were somewhere in between the new wavers and punks. Listened to the gloomier new wave, like joy division and bauhaus, wore all black with pale skin and dark lips, lace, velvet,  darkness,  mystery, absolute glamour!

NECRONOMICHARM modern gothic jewelry is most heavily inspired by gothic style and the many genres of extreme metal that I currently listen to.
