Needle Soup Creations is my handmade business which has grown from the desire to create beautiful and fun jewellery and accessories from otherwise discarded or outdated objects. I have a particular interest in vintage haberdashery as a collector of vintage buttons, lace and fabric. The colours, textures and the energy of a past in which the items were used and loved before they became outdated and discarded. I feel such objects carry a character and individuality of their own, and my passion is to take these objects and fabrics and to give them a new purpose as a wearable and useful item.
Needle Soup is the sister shop of Poppy and Belle, where I began making a specialty line of vintage knitting needle jewellery & accessories and have now given my up-cycled jewellery and bags it's very own shop!
Living in the wonderful landscape of the Blue Mountains since 1998 makes me appreciate the beauty of nature and the need mankind has to be kind to the environment, to reduce our carbon footprint and re-cycle as much as possible.
I now reside in Katoomba in the upper Blue Mountains, with my husband and 6 of our 7 children. All my work is made in my small studio in our busy and bustling family home!
