✨A NOTE ABOUT THE ARTIST✨:
Growing up I've always had a healthy curiosity when it comes to the natural sciences. Whether it was netting stuff in the stream, turning over rocks and logs to see the secret little worlds below, or just observing the surrounding wildlife (living and deceased) to try to understand them better and figure out how things work, nature has always fascinated me.
I've had many wonderful experiences already getting to study and handle various species of both plants and animals, and it's always a pleasure to get to experience and learn from them. And just as these living ambassadors are great for education in preservation, so are their less-lively counterparts.
While most may find it morbid or disturbing, preservation of non-living specimen are an important part of the biological sciences. These preserved flora and fauna provide important information linked to when they existed, their evolutionary development, overall function, etc..., and are an important tool in education.
The goal of my work is to give life to a subject matter most find grim and grotesque and transform it into something artful, educational, and captivating to the eye.
