Handmade home textiles
Years ago I found myself in a very difficult economic situation, without a job and with children still at school, I needed urgently to find a way get some income.
I started making different kind of products at home since pastries, artisan soaps, till decorate porcelain, with no much success I have to admit. But this last took me took me to learn serigraphy and in some way it opened to me a door to the textile world.
I found myself really comfortable there, it allowed me to feel supported by my background as an architect; designing always was and still is what attracts me most. Along the way I was acquiring different tools, serigraphy was the first, that help me to create each one of my products with my own hands, I learn about weaves, fibers, textures.
In the meanwhile children were growing up, searching for their own way and I finally found mine, I discovered my passion for this fascinating activity that makes me want to learn more every day and let loose my imagination without boundaries.
I also feel a great enthusiasm exploring about dyeing, knowing different techniques and learning about natural dyes. It’s a constant process of learning and discovering that does not allow me to ever get bored, there’s always something new to know, any technique to essay and at the same time feeds the imagination.
I deeply enjoy what I do. When after weeks, sometimes months, to work on an idea going back and forth, doing and undoing, I finally see the finished product satisfaction is incomparable. I guess part of it goes in every object leaving my studio, because if so much pleasure causes me to make it, I suppose the same must provoke to whom will use it.
